Scharf Film Production is a company that specializes in film production. The company was founded in 2000, is located in Bucharest, Romania and has been involved in the production of several films, including “Castelul Craitei” in 2023, “Străjerii Deltei” in 2021, “Mo” in 2019, “Pororoca” in 2017 or “Medalia de Onoare” in 2009.

Scharf Film Production enjoys many festival selections and important awards, including the San SebastianIFF Best Actor Award and the Silver Alexander Thesaloniki IFF.

The company’s rental department also has a technical base with filming, sound, lighting, and grip equipment.

The filming equipment includes ARRI Alexa mini cameras, Cooke S2 lenses, ARRI Alura and Zeiss superspeed zooms.

The sound recorders are Sonosax and Sounddevice, the lavaliers are Audiolimited with Cos11 microphones, and the booms are Schoeps and Sennheiser.

We have a wide range of generators, 1-2-3-15kw and the lighting equipment is of the new generation, Astera and Dedolight.

Liviu Mărghidan

He is a director, producer and cinematographer, particularly recognized for his contributions to the “Romanian New Wave” cinema. Liviu Mărghidan became known for his work as a DoP collaborating, among others, with director Cristian Nemescu on California Dreaming and Marilena from P7, on Constantin Popescu’s films POROROCA or Portretul luptatorului la tinerețe and on Cătălin Mitulescu’s film “Dincolo de calea ferată“.

Recently, as a director, he released his third feature film “Castelul Crăiței“, which stars his two children Adela and Radu Mărghidan, alongside already established actors Judith State and Dragoș Olaru.

Its imprint is, without a doubt, nature and outdoor activities, such as climbing, sailing and, more recently, diving.

Ruxandra Flonta

She is known in the Romanian film industry for her work as a film producer. She has a diverse educational background, having studied Law and International Economic Relations, but has always been attracted to the artistic field. Ruxandra’s career began in entertainment by being involved in various music festivals and TV shows, working alongside notable personalities such as Octavian Iordăchescu and Dumitru Moroșanu.

Ruxandra Flonta’s filmography includes various notable Romanian films, working alongside directors such as Constantin Popescu, Radu Dragomir or Nap Toader, and the most recent ones are Liviu Mărghidan’s “Castelul Crăiței” and Cătălin Saizescu’s “Visul“.
